Your Workspaces
Starting today you’ll have access to two workspaces, your Team Workspace and your Individual Workspace. You can switch between the two using the dropdown in the upper left corner of your screen. Let’s give you a rundown on how they both work.
Your Team Workspace
Your Team Workspace is your new home for video creation and collaboration. Here, you and your team will be able to watch and edit all videos created or transferred into the space.
You and your team will have access to our highest-tier functionality, including Saved Brands and Templates for your whole team to use, Premium Stock, Font Upload, and more.
You’ll find your account Admin’s Saved Brands and Templates in this space when you’re migrated. Admins on your team can create additional brands and templates for your team to use any time.
If you’d like to move any of your other team members’ Saved Brands or Templates into your Team Workspace, contact our team at help@animoto.com.
If you’re the only person on your team, then this workspace will function in the same way as your current My Videos page. Keep scrolling for quick run-throughs on transferring your projects into your workspace, as well as inviting members to your team.
Your Individual Workspace
You also have an Individual Workspace. This is where you’ll find all your videos when you first log in.
You can move videos from your Individual Workspace into your Team Workspace at any time. However, once you transfer projects to the Team Workspace, that content is owned by your organization and cannot be transferred into an Individual Workspace. If you want to keep a video in both workspaces, we recommend copying the project before moving it into the Team Workspace.
Your Individual Workspace is by default set to the Free plan. You can upgrade this space at any time, or create in your Team Workspace for access to your full suite of Animoto functionality.
Saved Brands and Templates
With Saved Brands and Templates, you can empower users across your organization to create on-brand, on-message videos.
Admin users can create and use Saved Brands and Templates. Any member of your team can use them.
Saved Brands
Save your colors, font, and logo once, and allow your team to bring videos on-brand in a single click. Create brands for different campaigns, products, services, and aesthetics to ensure that no matter what your team is creating, they can maintain a consistent look and feel. Saved Brands can be created and applied from within the editor.
Saved Templates
Anyone can be a video creator, they just need a place to start.
With Saved Templates, you can turn your team’s most frequently-created videos into templates with your brand, story, media, and music already in place. Ensure your team stays on-brand and on-message with a starting point that gives them everything they need to create professional videos, fast.
Simplified Team Management
This section applies to Admin users only
It’s your team’s workspace, and you control who has access. Now, for the first time, you’ll be able to add members of your team directly to any open seats, purchase additional seats as needed, remove and reassign seats, and set user roles, all from within your Animoto account.
Adding team members
Your subscription comes with three total seats. Fill your two additional seats from your Team Workspace or from your Team Settings page. Just input their email addresses, set their role (you can always change this later), and click Send Invite.
Purchasing seats
Once you’ve filled your three base seats, you can purchase additional seats on your Team Settings page.
If you’re purchasing 10 or more seats and prefer to go through our sales team, you can set up a call with our Sales team using this form.
Roles
There are two roles, which can be adjusted by your team’s Admin or Admins at any time. You can have multiple Admins as well as multiple Producers on your Team.
- Admins: Admins have full access to manage billing, team invites, member roles, and create Saved Brands and Saved Templates.
- Producers: Producers can create, edit, and share videos in your team’s workspace.
What do I have to do?
Nothing! There are, however, a couple of things to be aware of as you make the move into your new workspace.
Saved Brand & Template Transfer
Your account Admin’s Saved Brands and Templates will automatically be moved into your account. You can, however, also request to move additional team members’ brands and templates into the Team Workspace. Contact us at help@animoto.com and we’ll be happy to help.
Transfer projects
When you’re first migrated, your videos will all still live in your Individual Workspace. To move them into your Team Workspace, select projects individually, or select all and click “Move to Team”. You will not be able to transfer videos created with our legacy video maker, Animoto Memories, into your Team Workspace, but you can continue to create videos using Animoto Memories in your Individual Workspace.
Note: When you move a video to the shared workspace it becomes owned by the team and cannot be moved back into your Individual Workspace. If you want to keep a video in both workspaces, we recommend copying the project before moving it into the Team Workspace.
What if I don’t want a Team Workspace?
If you and the other members of your plan prefer not to be moved into a shared workspace, reach out to us directly at help@animoto.com, and we'll help set you up with the best Animoto plan based on your usage and needs.
